Health Fair at Sanders-Clyde.
On Saturday, Jon and I went to the Health Fair at Sanders-Clyde elementary school. Jon was helping out with the MUSC Dental booth, and I came to hangout and meet some current OT students.
They had a bunch of big teeth and toothbrushes, and when the kids came around they’d ask them how they brush their teeth. Jon was really good with all of the kids.
Brush the dinosaur’s teeth! It was really weird to see a puppet with full on teeth.
I got in on the action. I totally sold these girls on Sponge Bob bubblegum toothpaste.

A picture with the Riverdog – the mascot for the baseball team. Side note – when we went to the Riverdog’s game, this mascot did a break dance routine that brought tears to my eyes it was so funny.

The PT students were getting people to double dutch. Note to self: learn how to double dutch.
Note to Jon: learn how to double dutch.

I made friends with the OT students over snow cones. It was so great to be able to ask them questions about the program, and it got me so excited! I was feeling scared that school would be really hard and stressful, but they made me see how great its going to be. I forgot how much fun it’s going to be to be studying something I’m so interested in – rehabilitation. I’m stoked. They were all really nice and fun, and I can’t wait to start school in May.
