Southeastern Wildlife Expo.

After the Health Fair, we walked over to the Southeastern Wildlife Expo at Marion Square (where they have the farmer’s market.)  Here are some pictures of everything we saw.

WildlifeExpo Southeastern Wildlife Expo. It’s finally spring! We’ve been enjoying 70 degree weather without all the humidity, and it has felt so nice!

WildlifeExpo 1 Southeastern Wildlife Expo. Drinking a giant smoothie. I felt like a little kid, and I loved it.

WildlifeExpo 2 Southeastern Wildlife Expo. Everybody brought their puppies.  Charleston is the sixth dog-friendliest CITY in the U.S., and I believe it. Everybody here has a dog!

WildlifeExpo 3 Southeastern Wildlife Expo. It was such a nice day that everybody was laying out! They were just hanging out in their bathing suits in the middle of downtown Charleston. No pool, no problem.

WildlifeExpo 52 Southeastern Wildlife Expo. First stop at the Wildlife Expo, the bird tent!  We got to see this owl (pictured above) eat a mouse whole (also pictured above.) Tell me, how often do you get to see that??? Next to never.

WildlifeExpo 61 Southeastern Wildlife Expo.

WildlifeExpo 7 Southeastern Wildlife Expo. Here is the Barn Owl.

WildlifeExpo 8 Southeastern Wildlife Expo. And here is how I felt about the Barn Owl.

WildlifeExpo 9 Southeastern Wildlife Expo. This guy was so little I could have put him in my pocket.  But I refrained.

WildlifeExpo 10 Southeastern Wildlife Expo. A picture with two birds? Sure!

WildlifeExpo 11 Southeastern Wildlife Expo. I like scruffy, happy dogs.

WildlifeExpo 12 Southeastern Wildlife Expo. A pet snake that wasn’t apart of the Expo.  He just brought it.

WildlifeExpo 13 Southeastern Wildlife Expo. WildlifeExpo 14 Southeastern Wildlife Expo.

Jon took this right after I got to pet the zebra.  It was so soft!

WildlifeExpo 16 Southeastern Wildlife Expo. This lady was talking about how we need to save the possums. Great! But I can’t bring myself to say that possums are cute. Ever.

WildlifeExpo 17 Southeastern Wildlife Expo. This dog had a sign on it that said “Adopt Me!” and I said Okay! But then Jon said, “Not until we have a yard.” And I agreed.  But we would have taken this nice dog home otherwise.

So we didn’t get very many pictures of wildlife at the expo, but their really wasn’t much else to see.  Well, other than the camel that they were only letting kids ride.  Lame.

And here are some good pictures that we took walking back to the car that are very Charleston.

Cadillacs and Chevelles.  (the best ones have over-sized tires.)

WildlifeExpo 19 Southeastern Wildlife Expo.

Southern Baptists.

WildlifeExpo 20 Southeastern Wildlife Expo. And wrought iron gates on colorful houses.

WildlifeExpo 21 Southeastern Wildlife Expo. Now I’m all caught up on my blogging until this weekend! We are going to go see some bands do Beatles covers (maybe), and then go to an Oyster Roast on Sunday.  What are your plans?

I would also have been a kid in a candy store because I love dogs more than anyone in the world! Looks like you guys are having so much fun. I am jealous.

Happy late birthday :) I love reading your blog and now I’m happy I’m all caught up on your fun life. I would’ve put that baby owl in my pocket, he is so cute! I also didn’t know zebra’s were soft…that’s so cool you got to pet him. Bummer about the dog/yard thing. It will be best for all of you though in the long run. Miss you!

Also… about saving possums? Sorry but they are serious PESTS! Tell that lady they are alive in abundance down here and having a great time. And they will never be cute.
