Spring Break Day 6. To San Diego.

After the aquarium, we made the drive to San Diego!

Here is Pebble Beach.  The “sand” looks normal but it was very rocky (or pebbley) and not fine at all.

That was the end of our coastal drive.  They closed down the Pacific 1 Highway because the road had fallen out.  We had to turn around and back track for 3 hours to get on an alternate route.  Quite the adventure.

We drove through walls made of sand.

We found the town that the Hollister clothing store is named after.

We made it to San Diego! This was the view from our hotel.

Our room had I Love Lucy beds.

The next day was Jon’s research conference, the whole reason for the trip!  More pictures to come.
