Jailbreak 2.
Last weekend I performed at Jailbreak 2 at the historic jail in downtown Charleston! It was an art show featuring artwork, vendors, bands, and dancing. It was really fun to be a part of it!
We were able to walk throughout the whole jail, and each room had different art in it. Here’s me in front of an old jail cell with my stage makeup on.
This grenade display was Jon’s favorite piece.
The bands played outside. They were all really awesome.
DanceFX had a thirty minute performance window so our director, Jenny, brought different numbers from all the dance companies. Slow Jamz brought Violin Man, the dance we performed in Athens.
We performed in this tiny jail cell of a room with the audience crowded around the sides. Even though it was tiny and the floor was uneven concrete, the upside was that since there was no backstage, I got to wait in the audience til it was my turn to dance. It was fun to be able to watch everyone.
Here’s me enjoying the show with some girls I dance with on my right, and some girls from my OT class on my left who were really awesome to come out and watch me.
Here are some more of our good friends:
Kyle, Jillian, and Samir.
Lights!
This picture is of a girl swinging around a lit up hula-hoop.
Isn’t Jailbreak 2 awesome! It was so cool to be able to go enjoy art at a historic site. (You can read about it here.)
We have a video of me dancing that night, but the lighting and everything wasn’t great. Jon is going to try mixing it with another video from a small show we did today, and then I’ll post it later. I know you guys are all on the edge of your seat (hah)! I promise to post it as soon as I can.
Happy Thanksgiving week!
